Love the cartoon, Rich!
The danger is not whether we use ground transport (humans have no other choice, day to day) but in our CHOICES. Mass transit keeps oil usage down, so does walking, bicycling, and using alternate safe energies. I am hopeful that out of this toxic, horrible (avoidable) crisis to our life in our ocean and planet we will find a steadfast vision to develop and solely utilize sustainable and safe energy sources such as wind and solar, and better and more accessible public transit for everyone.
